This is another test with HDR techniques and effects. I thought shaving cream might be an interesting thing to use as a test for gradients and such.

I am still not happy with the colors just yet. HDR seems to throw stuff off a little. But, I am probably doing something wrong. I think the picture turned out interesting at least.

I have been reading a lot about HDR Photography for a while and finally decided to give it a try.

What is HDR? It stands for High Dynamic Range Imaging.

As quoted from Wikipedia:

"In computer graphics and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of exposures (the range of values between light and dark areas) than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows."

i think it has some really awesome potential for the work i have already been doing. By mixing it with some of the techniques I have already been developing. I will be able to create some really fantastic stuff. I am very excited.

06:05 pm - Digital Photography and Artwork Portfolio on Magazine websites

So I have been working on posting my work on more portfolio sites. Here is a list of the 3 most recent:

http://www.dphotographer.co.uk/user/bryancrump

http://www.pshopcreative.co.uk/user/bryan_crump

http://www.advancedphotoshop.co.uk/user/bryancrump

They are some great websites, not just for the magazines, but for the resources too. I am sure you will recognize my work in the galleries, but eventually I hope to start posting some unique images on different sites,  kind of like a scavenger hunt.

Prints are Available if you are interested. Just email me.

05:59 am - still a bit sick, but finally selling my work on some sites

So I finally got my Cafepress thing up and running, trying it out to see how my work looks on some of their products. Check it out and buy some stuff. If you have a favorite image and want to see it on a product let me know. I am building up stuff as we speak. Here is the link:

I am working on setting up a shopping cart on my website for prints and things as well. I am going to try and upload new images on some products on cafe press once every day or something. So if you have any favorite images you would like to see on some merchandise, let me know and I will see what I can do.

Is everyone having a good Holiday season? I was sick for a few weeks with Pneumonia and now I have some stupid virus from my immune system being vunerable when sick. Get some bloodwork done today. Wish me luck..

Over the years I have had people ask me how I do certain effects and things on my photos, so I have decided to start making some tutorials to give some insight and help those wanting to learn or obtain additional skills for their own work. Enjoy!!!

This is another portrait using my new techniques for bringing out detail and depth. I also gave it a hint of an artsy feel. I hope you enjoy this piece.

finishing up my degrees and working on transfer credits for film school. Supposed to be a few good ones here in the state so I won't have to go anywhere. Only taking 9 hours right now, so can take the courses easier and have more time for projects, work and commissions.

05:08 am - just writing

trying to pick up my writing, and writing stuff at 5am, so this is what it is....

------------------------------
bubbles in the darkness, reflections on their glassy surface the only light, but what is reflecting?

dancing dreams moving to and fro, dancing.. moving.. swaying in the darkness, the only illumination

images of other worlds, I reach out to touch and burst the nearest bubble and am overwhelmed in a torrent of crazy swirling colors, being sucked into a vortex to some unknown destination

music fills my ears, some crazy techno with mystical notes and a foreign language I do not know, some emotions I understand but do not comprehend.

movement in the words and the rhythm, a sea of life, a river of dreams a battle against the odds, a scream a yell for those who fell

shadows outside, they say forget, they say conform but they want control, but the song continues

where is freedom? where is hope? where are dreams, they are beyond unopened eyes, in the mind, they seek to emerge

a destiny unknown, a movement that seems fleeting but it challenges the hunt, that which is not earned is not appreciated, or so they say....

love, desire, happiness, bliss, what are they? different for each of us? what ties us all together? what sets us apart?

never give up, never surrender, future, dreams..

that place, that feeling, to be loved, to share a dream, to inspire, to bring hope, to bring joy and smiles through the tears

so much pain, so much rejection, so many chains, so many bonds, so much restriction, those that forgot do not remember compassion, they forget dreams, soldiers of a war to conform to make drones to take away dreams they themselves do not have. The river twists on as it flows.

the shadows have illusions of happiness through material aspect, they trick themselves, money gives them power but strips them of life.. wake up, go to work, come home, eat, sleep, wake up go to work, repeat the cycle, get paid, pay bills, no money....................is that where they leave us?

everything costs something? where does it start? where does it end?

hope dreams desire perseverance

words to remind, words to inspire, do not forget, always remember, live the dream.... find the rhythm in the song of your life..
